Swatch Tarte Lipsurgence in Peaceful

Tarte Lipsurgence in Peaceful
This is the first lipsurgence I have tried from Tarte, and it thoroughly impressed me! I have tried the lip luster, which is great, but I prefer the lipsurgence because it doesn’t have the glitter. And if you’re lips are the slightest bit dry the glitter kind of looks scaly on the lips.
However, when I used this product my lips were dry and this product made them look and feel moist and soft. No dry rough patches! This is one of those lip colors I can wear daily and it doesn’t look like I’m trying to hard. It looks like my natural lip color magnified! The color is described as a nude peach. That is pretty accurate depending on your natural lip color. On me it was a nude peachy/pink. Very flattering great for when I want more of a toned down lip look. Which is pretty much everyday, I rarely, if ever, do bold or bright lips, it’s not flattering on me. Plus, I’d rather focus on my eyes, I’m more of an eye makeup girl! I like this color because it’s not nude as it does provide some color, so it doesn’t make me look washed out. I’m so tired of seeing girls with smokey eyes do nude lips that washes them out. This will give you you’re toned down lip without making you look blah. I’ve been wearing it everyday since I got it. The cool thing is that  I line my lips with this and fill it in with this lip pencil! It has some build able coverage, so you can put a few swipes on for a little bit more color.
This retails at Sephora or Tarte’s website for $24. It is a little pricey, but so worth it. I have sensitive lips, and even the expensive brands that claim to be moisturizing irritate my lips, except this brand. This product does what it claims and makes my lips more moisturized, plus it’s lasted through my lunch. I’m impressed!
This is one of the lip products that is turning into,”Whoa, how did I ever do without that product”, kind of thing! The lipsurgence is great! Highly recommend, and can’t wait to get other colors!

What is this? Tarte Miracle of Maracuja 8 piece collection Blush Brush. This bamboo brush is very soft and feels pretty high quality. I used some blush and that’s why it looks a little pink. However, this brush shed a little when I applied it in the blush. Kinda disappointed in that, so I apply the blush with fingers and blend with brush. I hope the eyeshadow brushes in the next kit hold up a little better. I hate brushes made from China…

What it is: Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes! Mascara in Black.
The Claims: A Black Volumizing mascara designed to give volume to eyelashes. Does not flake and like all Tarte products does not contain gross parabens or phthalates. Retails at $19.
The Results: I was not overly impressed with this mascara. It dried before I had a chance to put on two coats. That normally only happens with waterproof mascara. It also flaked down my face. It did make my lashes bigger but at this price I would not re purchase separately. I would not recommend.

What it is: Tarte Eye Shadow Quad in Envoke the Smoke. From left to right the colors are Pink Cloud, Silver Mist, Purple Fog, and Dark Ash.
The Claims: Four long wearing powder eye shadows designed to give a spring time smokey eye.
The Results: Hmm…where to begin? Gotta be honest, I am not totally feeling this quad. I think the colors are too dark for a spring look and was not crazy about the texture or blend ability. When I used all four as directed I thought the they looked a little muddied. However, for a daytime look I have used  Pink Cloud all over the lid and the Silver Mist in the crease: this is a very pretty look. When paired with the sample Amazonian Clay eye primer the eye shadows were long wearing, lasting about all day. I would have rather seen more earth tone hues in the quad, or even a Smolder Eyes Eyeliner (which I have yet to try). Not bad eye shadows but not something I would purchase on my own separately. Not something I would recommend.

What it is: Tarte Air Blush in Amused is described as a shimmering poppy blush right on trend with the spring/summer coral theme of bright color.
The claims: This blush is cream based and infused with Maracuja oil so it is perfect for women who don’t want the drying effect of powder blushes. It claims to be good for the skin because of the high concentrate of fatty acids and Vitamin C from the Maracuja oil. It’s meant for all skin types and color.
The results: I LOVE THIS BLUSH! It is the best blush I have ever used! It is hydrating and sweeps over the skin leaving a dewy, not oily, glow. The color looks bright in the container but need not fear because it goes on light and has build able coverage. I have light skin and on me it looked like a medium shade of a pink/coral blush. It gave a nice pop of color but the real thing I loved was the creaminess of the blush. I have normal/dry skin and I love anything that is hydrating. Hydration equal younger looking skin. I highly recommend!
